Features

Webmin module for Exim provides nearly all the functionalities of the standard Exim monitoring and statistic tools, eximon and eximstat with a web interface, which is I hope, more userfriendly...

What is Exim?

Exim is a Message Transfer Agent (MTA) or SMTP server if you prefer. It lives on the net among other MTAs like Sendmail, Postfix, Qmail...
Its main purpose is to transport your electronic mail from one point to another.

Why Exim?

Well, why not? Exim is, among other things :

but the big fact is that Exim comes with the Debian GNU/Linux distribution as the default MTA.

What is Webmin?

Webmin is a web-based interface for system administration for Unix. It is written in Perl and can be easily extended.

Why writing a Webmin module for Exim

Well, there is actually no tool to manage or configure Exim remotely; of course you can log onto the machine running Exim and use the command line or export the display of eximon (the X11 monitoring tool coming with exim); but that can be boring or insecure depending on the client used for the remote login... The web interface provided by webmin seems to be a good compromise but yet not perfect.
